There are exactly 8 Fridays until Christmas. I am typically not proactive when it comes to my Christmas shopping, but this year, I’m trying to be. I am super passionate about purchases with a purpose and so I put together a 2015 Christmas Gift Guide of gifts that give back. It’s a win-win, really. Purchase a gift that you were going to buy anyway and the company gives a percentage to a good cause.
Noonday Collections. So much good–Adoption trunk shows donate 10 percent to adoptive families; women across the globe are empowered by becoming artisans and receiving a fair wage; and jobs are created in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. To buy: jewelry, scarves, and handbags.
Amazon Smile.* You guys know how much I love Amazon–I couldn’t possibly create a gift guide without including them! Amazon Smile is an option that donates 0.5% of your purchase price to the charity of your choice. There are almost 1 million charities to choose from and there is no cap on the amount Amazon will donate. So at no extra cost to you, money from your purchase is donated to charity. That is a win-win for me! PS: Wounded Warrior is my charity of choice. To buy: anything you can think of!
Krochet Kids.* Krochet Kids International provides a fair wage to people in impoverished countries, allowing them to provide for their families. Cool tidbit: Each KK product comes hand-signed by the woman who created it. To buy: shirts and headgear (ear warmers and boggins) for men, women, and children.
Fotostrap. For every purchase, Fotostrap donates 10 percent of proceeds to Fotolanthropy, a non-profit organization that gives portrait sessions to inspiring people who are overcoming adversity. To buy: camera straps.
Sevenly. Sevenly focuses on a different cause each week. For every item purchased, Sevenly donates $7 to the featured cause. To buy: men and women’s clothing and accessories.
Lara Casey. Lara Casey sells tons of organizational and planning items. Ten percent of all shop orders go toward providing food, clothing, housing, and education to children in Kenya. To buy: organizational printables, cute notebooks and journals, scripture prints, books.
Toms. Through purchases, Toms helps provide shoes, sight, water, and safe births for people in underprivileged people. To buy: socks, shoes, accessories, and coffee.
Bridgewater Candles. Bridgewater is partnered with Rice Bowls, and for every candle sold, Bridgewater donates a portion of the sales to different international orphanages. Every candle purchased feeds a child for a day. To buy: candles.
