You guys, we are sitting at NINE days until school is out for the summer. My brain can’t even form a coherent sentence. I’m preparing to inventory 16,000 books. I’m completing piles and piles and piles of end of the year paperwork. I’m trying to salvage years old technology so that it will (fingers crossed) make it one more year. And all of this while simultaneously supervising 600 kids who are in and out of the library for 30 minutes at a time. My brain is frazzled, as is evidenced by the lack of posts this week.
But today, I’m back with another Five on Friday post, which is quickly becoming my favorite thing to share 🙂
one. Strawberry festival and park days. On Saturday, we all went to the local Strawberry Festival. There was a corn hole tournament, mud volleyball, tons of snacks and vendors, and live music. After the festival, we went to the park to swing and slide and soak up a little more sunshine.
two. Field trips.
Libby’s second grade class took a field trip to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens and I was lucky enough to get to tag along. We visited the butterfly exhibit, did a little net-fishing, and played in a life-size doghouse. It was great to spend the entire day with my middle child, who sometimes feels a little left out. (That whole middle child syndrome is totally a real thing, y’all!)
Kyndall’s choir group took a field trip to the bowling alley and Cici’s pizza for lunch. These kids cracked me up with their bowling (and dancing!) skills. They are such a hoot!
three. Cool kids. Breakfast for dinner. Church flow. Too much personality in one picture.
four. Farm antics. Duck baths, so they could move into their new and improved home. Garden watering, because we so need some rain, for the love. Lawn mower watering, because Papa’s lawn mower caught on fire while he was attempting to mow the fence line. He ran to get buckets of water and had made about three (unsuccessful) trips when Kyndall remembered the fire extinguisher in Pops’ truck. Ironically, Papa has been asking for a new lawn mower for a while now. I don’t know about you, but I find this whole event suspicious (wink, wink).
five. Field Day. Today will be filled with relays and games and snacks and sun. This is Kyndall’s very last field day at the elementary school and it hurts my heart. (Of course, they have fun things over at the middle school too, but she will not be with me. Y’all, I am dealing with the separation anxiety now that most parents have before Kindergarten. I’m a hot mess.)
How about you? What is one thing you’ve been doing this week?
