I love making slideshows with my pictures. The whole family enjoys popping a DVD into the tv and watching a video montage of our recent vacation, baby’s first year, our wedding photos, or whatever the event may be. Most recently, I made a slideshow for Justin’s grandfather’s funeral. If you have iPhoto, making a slideshow, complete with music, is easy.
In iPhoto, select File > New Album. Name the album whatever you wish. I used Beach 2015 for our Gulf Shores vacation this summer.
Select the photos for your album. Drag and drop them into the album. (Tip: If you are selecting multiple photos, you can hold down the shift key and select multiple photos at once!)
When your album is complete, select File > New Slideshow. All the photos from your album will be imported into the slideshow. To rearrange the photos, just drag and drop them into their new location.
If you would like to add music, select the music option in the bottom right-hand corner. This will pull up a window listing all the music you have on your computer. If you would like to use music from your iTunes account, select Source > iTunes > Song Title > Choose.
For more advanced options, such as changing the length of each slide, the transition type, or to repeat, select the settings option in the bottom right-hand corner.
Once you are satisfied with your slideshow, choose the export option. You can choose different formats-I typically choose the high definition (720p) option.
A photo DVD makes a great gift for birthdays, too. My mom made one for Kyndall’s first birthday and included TONS of photos of her first year. It is such a great thing to have and be able to look back on. Now, we just have to get going on Libby and Jase’s first years 🙂
