It’s no secret that I love my Amazon Prime* membership. I take full advantage of it and so, to me, it’s definitely worth the $99 yearly fee. After looking over my recent orders, I thought I needed to share with you why I love Prime, as well as a few things I’ve purchased this month.
Lots of things I order through Prime are cheaper, and I enjoy the 2-day shipping. Almost out of shampoo? I could run to the store and drag all three children out OR I could sweet-talk Justin into stopping for me OR I could just order it and have it delivered to my doorstep in 2 days. Ordering wins, hands down.
This month, the following items were in my Amazon cart and then delivered to my door:
- DevaCurl No Poo shampoo.* The 32-ounce bottle through Amazon is $27.25 and $39.99 at Ulta.
- Pet Life Eco-Paw Reversible Pet Bed, Large, purchased for Max and Oakley. $16.14 through Amazon, $36.15 at Petco.
- 18 x 24 Craig picture frame. $26.29 through Amazon, $22.99 + shipping through the manufacturers website.
- Huggies, size 3, economy pack (222-count.)* $42 through Amazon and $42 at Target. The plus? I have an Amazon mom subscription, so these are delivered to my door every 2 months and I never have to think about buying diapers!
- Pilot FriXion Clicker Retractable Erasable Gel Pens, Fine Point, Assorted Color Inks, 7-Pack.* $11.32 through Amazon, $14.99 at Staples.
Good to know: When ordering items that you don’t need in 2 days, Amazon offers a $1 e-book credit if you select no-rush shipping. I try to use these as much as possible and usually get one additional free book each month.
Once a month, you get free pre-release titles. Each month, Amazon sends me an email with four or five pre-release titles. I choose one and it’s delivered wirelessly to my device. Typically, there is one book per genre–romance, thriller, nonfiction, and .
Free streaming Prime video. The Good Wife. Covert Affairs. The Unit. {Full disclosure: Not available are Friday Night Lights, Revenge, or Rookie Blue.}
Prime Music. It’s like Pandora and Spotify, combined.
Christmas is coming up and I am already adding items to my cart to be used as Christmas presents. Usually, Amazon has awesome black Friday sales. (Not to be confused with the horrid Prime Day sales fail.)
And speaking of Christmas, do you have a voracious reader in your family? Someone who could benefit from an Amazon Prime membership? Give the gift of Prime here.
