Our youth league basketball season ended this weekend in a heart-breaking 35-36 loss in the county championship game. These girls fought to the very last second and played with more heart and passion than you’ll find in some college games.
In some ways, this season was the end of an era. These girls have played youth league basketball together for years now. The majority of their team will move up to play middle school ball next year, so this was their last year playing youth league together. (Sniff, sniff.)
Our girls finished out the season with a 14-1 record. Kyndall made a grand total of 16 points and somewhere around 4,768 steals. (Defense is her strong point. One day, she’ll be able to muscle that ball up to the goal easier and up her offense game. She is just too little.)
And for your viewing pleasure, I have included a shaky, iPhone video of the girls in action. Kyndall is #11, and you’ll see her steal the ball and then miss her shot. It wasn’t often she missed her shots–she usually like passing more than shooting!
